Writing

Paragraph a Week - Grades 4 to 7

Paragraph a Week is designed as a yearly writing program for fifth and sixth graders. It could easily be adapted to other grades or writing levels. The site provides a writing prompt for each week of the school year as well as set criterion for each topic. The prompts offer opportunities for students to write in various styles and in paragraph form. Rubrics, instructions, and parent letters are included. Simply print out the topic of the week and students can get busy!

Narrative Writing Prompts - Grades 2 to 6

What if clouds were made of marshmallow goo? What if you were less than an inch tall? This site provides over twenty creative, narrative writing prompts that kids will enjoy dreaming about and putting into words. All prompts appear on printable pages with lines and illustrations. Allow students to let their imaginations run wild and create great pieces of writing.

Language Interactives - Annenberg Media

"Interactives" provides educators and students with strategies, content, and activities that can enhance and improve students' skills in a variety of curricular areas.
